Richard M. Heim, President of Richard M. Heim Advertising, died on March 26th, at the age of 8l, and worked until the last day of his life. Richard lived a full and vibrant personal and professional life and was loved by all who knew him for his kindness and generosity.

He was missing in action for two months and was one of the over 500 men rescued in the Halyard Mission, which was an allied airlift. It was the largest rescue operation of American airmen in history. Richard received a Purple Heart and an Air Medal. Richard then went on to graduate from Penn State and did graduate work in history at N.Y.U. He belonged to the Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity and continued a life-long dedication to it holding several positions on its various national councils. As a Trustee of the Education Foundation, he raised substantial monies to support its scholarship programs.

Richard loved young people and tried to encourage them to reach their potential and counseled them on alcohol abuse. Richard was passionate about golf. He belonged to the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk and served on many committees at the Club, including being a Board Member for nine years.

Richard was a devoted husband to his wife, Rose Tripp Heim. He is also survived by his brother, Robert, his nephew, Gregory, his niece Carolyn, her husband John Paladino, and their two sons, Luke and Evan. A memorial service was held at Frank E. Campbell on Madison Avenue and 81st Street, on Wednesday, April 4th, at 3:30 PM. Dear Richard was not only a friend but a trusted fraternity Brother and mentor of mine for many years. As his beloved wife Rose said he a "continued a life-long dedication" to our fraternity reflecting our motto of "Not Four Years, But lifetime".

Richard always kept the welfare of the students at his chapter at Penn State in mind but also cared for the thousands of his Fraternity Brothers across the US and Canada. Richard held many of the highest awards given to a volunteer alumni including the Council Key, with Diamonds, which gave him the perpetual title, Honorable Brother.

I personally miss his wisdom, counsel and trust that only he could provide with the gentle humor of a wise man.
