My prayers are with Barbara and her family. I enjoyed the brief time I spent with Rick during AACN activities. He had a unique perspective in medicine and life.

Having only recently seen Tim´s obituary I am sorry to see Rick´s passing. I only knew him my freshman year but counted both Tim and Rick as very fine guys.

Barbara, so sorry to hear of Rick´s passing. He was such a fine person. And I always valued his perspective on things. I still have the framed picture of boats in a harbor hanging in my office at TMH that he gave me when you guys left TLH and think about you guys with fondness often.

Mac will be missed by many. It was such an honor to work with and beside him in Abilene. A very smart and caring man. Prayer to Barbara and the family. May you find comfort in the memories.

Baruch Dayan haEmet. I´m so deeply sad to hear this news! Just the other day, I was looking at the book of his poetry he gave me. The poem he wrote for me completely captured how I feel when I pray. He was an amazing, inspirational man, and my heart is with Barbara MacArthur and the whole family. HaMakom yinacheim etchem...

I first met Rick at KU in 1965 when we were both in the TKE Fraternity. We then went to KU Medical School together, graduating in 1973. As is common we lost touch with each other over the years. We last spoke at our 40 year reunion in 2013. He was very optimistic given the ravages MS had already caused. He was wheel chair bound but remained an engaging conversationalist. It was great to see him again. Most victims of MS at his stage in 2013 would not have survived almost 10 years. I have to give much credit to Barbara for the care she must have provided. I know Rick also had to be a courageous patient to live like he did.
May he rest in piece.

I am out of Country and will be unable to attend services. Rick was my pledge son at the TKE house and I have many fond memories. I am so sorry for your loss.

Rick was a rare and remarkable renaissance man, unmatched in curiosity and personal courage. The lights in our World are perceptibly dimmed by his absence. We wish Barbara and family strength and peace in the days ahead.
