I just found out that Doc passed away. My deepest condolences goes out to his family. I feel like he was part of my family as I'd been going to him since I was 14 years old. My daughters loved going to the dentist because he was just so wonderful. Doc was always full of smiles and loved to engage in some enthusiastic political discussions. What a special person he was. He will be deeply missed.

Mags was one of the kindest and genuine individuals I have met. He was an inspirational coach always sending notes and thoughts of encouragement. I have kept his words of encouragement and letters over the years to help me through. He will never be forgotten .

The wind is so strong today. I remember you telling us to put our heads down, lean forward and run faster through it. Trying hard to do that today but it's hard. Will keep your legacy alive and push through it.

Words are so hard to describe Dr. Richard Magaovich! He was always a joy to visit!! And most everyone knows, a visit to 'the dentist' is not usually a 'joy'. He made the visit that way with his touch, his spirit and his inspiring words!! For the past several weeks,he has been heavy in my heart and on my mind, hoping to get a glimpse into his thoughts on this political upheaval we have today. I have read the other entries and it is hard to say any other wonderful things about someone who was so special to everyone he came in contact with. I feel that all of us who met him, came in contact with him and those who really knew him best, know how blessed we all are to have had him in our lives for as long or short it was. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved him. Shelia and your family, and the loving staff at the office, I cannot express my sadness more than this and I pray we all are sustained by the love and wonderfulness of this man who touched so many lives.

I am so sad to hear of Dr. Magovich's passing. I truly loved him. He was so kind and funny, so passionate about his family and his politics. I couldn't get a word in edgewise, but who needed to...his personality filled the room. 2 memories surface when I think of him. One, when I was very little and needed to have a root canal on my "sweet" tooth, I was just crying my eyes out and he approached me so gently and said: "Oh it hurts me too. I have kids your age and I am not trying to hurt you." The 2nd, my mom would NOT buy me a cabbage patch doll. Too much and I was 1 of 6. Then my young dad died and it was just before Christmas. I was 9, and Dr. Magovich brought us Christmas. All 6 of us got gifts. Ten speed bikes, boomboxes, shape sorters and the like, and I got a cabbage patch doll! I dearly loved that man! I am so sorry to all of you kids who he talked about constantly while I was in his chair (and their spouses too!). And to you, Sheila, his constant companion! Thank you for everything always! My heart goes out to you. I am sorry I could not hug you and pay my respects. I was running girl scout camp otherwise nothing would have kept me away. What a special man!!

To the Entire Magovich Family:

I was so sorry to learn of "Mags" death. He was certainly one of the most kind, passionate and learned human beings I've ever met. As Bridget's coach at SHS, he was always so positive and helpful in any way that he could be. I truly admired him as a husband, father, grandfather, professional and coach. He will truly be missed by many.

One of God's arrangements is that after every Winter there should come beautiful Spring days. It happens every year and it happens in every life.

Our thoughts are with you all!

I'm stunned and saddened by the news of Dr. Magovich's passing. I am so sorry Sheila for you, your children, grandchildren and of course to all his patients who loved him. He will be so missed. I always looked forward to my visits with him as we would talk politics, the news of the day, and his kids or whatever was on our minds as he continued working on my teeth! He was so much fun! He was an excellent dentist and just a "prince of a man"! Just so hard to believe..again, my deepest condolences to you Sheila.

Dr. Magovich was not only a great dentist, but an amazing humanitarian, educator, parent, and saviour of the world-one patient at a time. You could sit in that chair thinking you had a pretty good handle on life, and in that captive time, he would spin a world you never considered. He was strong, yet diminutive and ailing. He was smart, but always searching for truth. He was kind and compassionate beyond the normal caring. This is just a simple obituary that does not even brush the surface of who he was or what he was about. Linger just a while Dr. Magovich, to give your "people" the heavenly Novocaine they need to go on, and then God-speed to your heavenly reward.

With much love,

Kelly (Ardelean) Huling

Truly saddened by this news, and send my deepest sympathies to the Magovich family.

Coach "Mags" was an amazing motivator, coach and friend to a team of highly rambunctious girls at SHS. At a time when we needed it most, he taught us what it meant to really be there for each other. I'll always be grateful to him for that, and for helping me love the sport of running.

Sheila and the entire Magovich Family,
We were so sorry to learn of Rich's passing. With a heavy heart we offer our sincere condolences. I have known Rich for almost 30 years. He offered lots of support and encouragement to me when I first came to Strongsville and I will always be grateful for his help . Always a smile on his face and a good word for all, he was a totally dedicated family man and friend as well as a hard working, caring professional to his patients. Through all that life passed his way he maintained his positive attitude and sense of humor. He will be sorely missed! RIP my friend
