Richard Mullins II Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 25, 2023.
Richard James Mullins II (50) of Gilbert, AZ graduated into heaven unexpectedly on September 16, 2023. Rich was born April 30, 1973, in Santa Cruz, CA. He graduated from Leigh High in San Jose, CA in 1991 and relocated to Arizona in 1995. He was a loving Son, husband, father, and grandfather. To all those who knew him he was hard-working, fun-loving, with a bigger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. He was passionate about sports, loved live music, and often shared these passions with his family and friends, there was nothing more beloved to him than his family, his wife (Sarah) and kids (Mariah, Canaan & Shawn). Rich loved serving others and was an active member of his church assisting with Celebrate Recovery where he was able to share his experiences to help others. Rich cherished spending time with family and friends and could always be found manning the grill at a BBQ, playing keep away with his puppies, or watching a game on TV. He was always available with a good joke, sarcastic remark, or a hand to help those in need. He was a man that would do anything to help another person and rarely asked for anything in return.

He is survived and forever missed by his parents Richard Mullins and Linda Sanders along with his sister Leah Klein (Steven Klein); wife Sarah (Markhart) Mullins; children Mariah Mullins, Canaan Mullins and Shawn Mullins; Grandson Zaire Montes;

Celebration of Life services will be held on Sat. Sept 30th, 2023 at Noon at Living Word Bible Church Mesa Campus - 3520 E Brown Road, Mesa, AZ 85213 in the Fellowship Hall.

My thoughts and prayers to you all. I grew up with Rich when we were little and have such great memories of playing sports and riding bikes around the neighborhood. My best to you all.

Although I had only known Rich for a little less than 2 years, I was lucky to be blessed with his presence. His contagious smile, deep belly laughs, and positive words will be greatly missed, I miss you buddy.

I only met Rich a little over 18 months ago, but he had a huge impact on my life. I will always cherish his laugh, his smile and his kind heart. He was larger than life and a true gift to anyone's path he crossed. I will remember him as a father, a role model and most of all a true friend. Enjoy that big concert in the sky brother....and save me a seat

Something I learned from Richard was you never give up, no matter what. I seen with my eyes and I learned that in CR. Thank you Richard. For being that leader. I love you Brother and I´ll never forget you. See you when I see you. Sarah, my deepest condolences to you and the entire family.

This is so heart breaking Sarah. I will forever remember, and forever be grateful for the support and advice that both you and Rich gave me when we were going through a very difficult time with our son. You were both so kind to a stranger your kindness will never be forgotten.

Our last concert together was Metallica. Had to be one of the best shows to go out on. Seeing his childish smile seeing them play some of his favorite songs will always live with me.
