I think about you everyday.I know that it's been years but it seems like yesterday that you died. I am so sorry that we didn't have the time to talk, you were so sick I didn't want to scare you by saying goodbye. (because of your death I said goodbye to Dad and Dennis. I was glad I was able to do that)I know that life goes on for most, but for us your family, no matter how hard we try, life could never be the same. Please watch over Liz and Jarred as they really need your guidance and love more than ever. So much has changed since you have been gone, but you will always have a place in my heart reserved just for you. Love, Christy

On this day four years ago my heart was broken when my beloved husband died. I never thought it would heal or recover from the pain of such a life-changing and devastating loss. ... While I will never, and could never, forget the many years of life - the joy, friendship, family, and love - that we shared together, I am so thankful that our human hearts are capable of such a love ... and that they continue to love. RIP and be assured that all is well. Love,

Death, be not proud
Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

Music, when soft voices die
Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory—
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.
Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the beloved's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

Today is August 31st and your birthday. It is a beautiful day outside and shaping up to be nice for the whole Labor Day weekend. You are a Great Uncle again. Kristy and Ray had a baby girl on July 14th and she is as cute as can be. They named her Karley DeAnn, which was both a surprise and an honor for me. Missing you always.

Thanks for the "birthday gift," of my wheel of fortune winnings, that just arrived in the mail!! (Not that you really had anything to do with it, but it's fun to think I have a guardian angel watching over me when something good happens. ;-) I didn't expect the check until October so what a surprise that it came early!
Tomorrow is your 51st birthday! I will be thinking of you and missing you, as always. The weather is going to be beautiful! A perfect day for a picnic, so that's what we'll be doing!
Elizabeth opens as The Princess in "Once upon a Mattress" next weekend. She is growing ever more talented as a singer, actress, and dancer. She also made the Dean's List last semester at college! Very impressive!
That same weekend, Jarred has his college orientation at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He will be majoring in Web Design and Interactive Media. He also started a new job today as a "geek squad agent" at Best Buy, making a very nice hourly wage for someone his age, you would be so very proud. He is very talented and smart just like you!

Saw Jerry and his current band this past week ... good musicians. He gave me a DVD of your band, Thick as Thieves, performing at the Arts Festival the Summer of 1988. First thing I noticed, after the hair and fashions, was how well written the music was. It definitely stood the test of time! ... It was the first time I've watched a video of you ... it made me miss you even more!

It's June once again! A month that is always filled with significant life events ... when we miss you the most ...
Father's Day is June 15th, a sad day for us all!
I know you were "watching and laughing" with us on June 5th when the Wheel of Fortune aired and I know you were "there" with me when it taped in February!
On June 6th, we celebrated Jarred's 18th Birthday! He will graduate from High School this coming Saturday, June 14th, on what would have been our 22nd Wedding Anniversary. On June 21st we will gather with friends and family to celebrate the graduation.
You are always with us in our hearts and thoughts ...

Just finished reading the novel, P.S. I Love You. What an awesome job by the author, Cecelia Ahern, in portraying the experience and emotions of a young widow. I can't believe she was only 21 years old when she wrote this book.
Saw the movie too. The movie is very different from the book (which I prefer over the movie) and a little "fluffy," but it is also very accurate and relatively well acted.
Some of the things that Gerry writes to Holly you said to me in person before you died. Thank you for that.
I will miss you forever. Love,

We fly to L.A. tomorrow and I'll be appearing as a contestant on "The Wheel of Fortune" on Friday! ... I know your spirit will "be there" helping me spin the wheel, solve the puzzles, and win BIG MONEY! Remember you always solved the puzzles before me :-) so I'll definitely need your help!
The kids and I are so excited to see all the Hollywood sights! We're going to get Elizabeth her own star on the walk of fame ... and Jarred wants to find all the local DDR machines! He's nationally ranked now!

January and February are filled with so many sad memories. This is by far the most depressing time of year for us. (Me, the kids, my family, and I'm quite sure, all of your family and friends.)
We try to forget, go through the daily motions, and focus on the many positives in our lives now, but each seemingly endless, lonely, cold, snowy, gray winter day brings back all of the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that we went through two years ago and continue to deal with now.
We shall never forget you and the misfortune that took you from us.
Love,
Lourie

Hello Today!
Thanks for the green lights! It was wonderful to be running late and not have even one red traffic light. It felt like I had a guardian angel watching over me!? :-)
Anyway, as you know, Elizabeth was fabulous as Mollie in Agathe Christie's play The MouseTrap. She is really emerging as a very talented actress and as a mature young lady!
Jarred is thinking of careers as he enjoys his senior year. We recently got his senior pictures and they are awesome. He is such a handsome young man, much like his father!
Please continue to watch over us all! We think of you and miss you everyday!
Love,

Beloved Romeo passed away today after a long illness. I picture the two of you together again now.

May both of you rest in peace.

I was thinking about you today. Your birth date is soon approaching - the 31st if I am not mistaken. It had been a miserable summer.. Hot and dry then damp and wet. The river went down real low and all the guys who fish were complaining. Too much mud everywhere. Marc got a job working for the same company Nick works for and Kristy is having a second interview for a teaching job at Sharpsville. Your Great nieces and nephew are growing like weeds. Kayla is going to 6th grade this year. We miss you daily.
With love in our hearts,

Had an audition for Wheel of Fortune today. I made it to the final round! I now wait for a letter. ... I loved to watch the show with you ... Miss You Now and Forever! Love,

Yesterday was our second Father's Day without you.
We went to the zoo which was one of your favorite places to spend a sunny holiday.
It felt good to be there together, and, once again, as strange as it sounds, it felt like you were with us.
We shared many memories of being there with you - what you said and did, and how you would tease me and joke with the children. We then went out for pasta, one of your favorite foods.
You were a great father, my dear, and your children and I will always remember with love.
Lourie

It's June already!
Jarred will be 17 this Wednesday,
Elizabeth is orchestrating yet another Broadway Review for this Thursday,
Kennywood day is Friday,
next Thursday we would have celebrated our 21st Wedding Anniversary,
and our 2nd Father's Day without you is just around the corner.
It's still amazing to me - every single day - how much all of our lives have changed over the last year and four months without you ... While I have tried to cope, accept, and adapt to these changes as best I can, I still long for the past every day.
I probably shouldn't have listened to the "Best of Bread" album yesterday, but I would definitley "give everything I own ... just to have you back again."

Making a quilt square to remember loved ones has become a meaningful part of the Highmark Caring Place program. Family members come together to create quilt squares which celebrate the lives of those who have died, reminding us that these people and our relationship with them continue to live in our hearts and memories. The sewing together of the quilt squares symbolizes that we are not alone on our grief journeys and that healing is possible with caring support from others.
Through the generous efforts of Caring Place volunteers, our group's quilt has been completed.
An open invitation to our family and friends ...
Please join us ...

It's gorgeous outside, your favorite kind of spring day!
I went to see Bill Loos's current band "Her Vanished Grace" in New York City this past weekend. Bill wore a shirt that he had handcrafted in your honor and dedicated his performance to you. He paid special tribute prior to performing a song titled "walking on water" which reminds him of when you two played together. He said that you also wrote a song with the same title back in the day. I am sure that you were with us in spirit, but just so that any other friends reading this may know, Bill is still an awesome drummer! (and the band is great!)
It was wonderful to catch up with Bill and Betty. They still look the same somehow :-) and have a beautiful family. We shared many memories of you. It is very emotional to visit with your lifelong friends (those who truly knew you the best) but extremely gratifying as it somehow seems like spending time with you.
You are greatly loved and will be forever missed ...

Dear Rick,
Saturday was the first day of trout season and I was thinking about you. The weather was a mix of wind, cold, snow and rain, but somehow I do not think that would have mattered to you. You are missed daily. Thank everyone up there for the help they sent down to guide Nick through his surgeries. So far so good.
