Beloved husband of Janet (Auth) Galinowski. Loving father of Richard Galinowski. Son of the late Tymko and Olga Galinowski. Brother of the late Paul (surviving wife, Joanne) Galinowski. Brother-in-law of Rick (Joanie) Auth, Virginia O'Hanlon and Garnet (the late Russell) Auth. Uncle of Jordan Auth, Stefanie Dorrance, Amanda Zavidny and Dan Yaklich
Also survived by many friends.
Pete Graduated from Duquesne University. He was proud to serve his country during the Vietnam War in the US Navy. He was the Post Commander of American Legion Post 681. Pete was also a member of the Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh and the Condor Aero Club. Along with his many activities he mostly loved his photography, taking photos wherever he could.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday September 8, 2025 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Szal Funeral Home, Inc 238 Helen Street McKees Rocks where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Duquesne University.

Dear Richard and Janet
Please accept my sincere condolences. A few month ago, my father, Pete's cousin, also passed away. I regret I missed the opportunity to have them meet together, 12 years ago. Now they both rest with God. Time and distance may separate us, but the loving memory will always survive.
May God bless you, and may Pete and his cousin, Georges, rest in peace.

I am shocked that I read Pete's obituary. He and Janet visited me over the years and we exchanged books that we read. I truly enjoyed making pyrohy with our mutual volunteer/friends at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox church in McKees Rocks on Fridays. Pete brought beautiful photographs of interesting places and things he saw.
My heartfelt condolences to my favorite vegetarian Ukrainian's precious family. May his memory be eternal.
