GREENSBORO - Mrs. Gladys Smith Bouvier, 88, died February 13, 2010 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church in Greensboro. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Gladys was born in Durham, N.C. and graduated from Durham High School at age 16. She was a beloved, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was affectionately known as 'Gay' to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After lovingly rearing her children in Durham and Winston-Salem, Gladys returned to work at Forsyth Country Day School where was loved by many children during her years there.
Gladys is survived by her husband of 68 years, Louis M. Bouvier; children, Louis M. Bouvier, Jr. (Denny Kelly), Bonnie Kristoff (Eric Kristoff), Marianne Bouvier Scott (Burton Scott), and Kathryn Bouvier (Mike Adams); grandchildren Suzanne Neal, Nicole Boothe, Neil Drummond, Devon Bouvier, Louis M. Bouvier III, Tara Connolly, Melissa Scott and Thomas Scott and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Donna Drummond McCranie.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel.
