Mr. Richard Lewis Prater, II, of Wright City, MO passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023. He was born on October 20, 1962 in Kirkwood, MO to the late Richard L. Prater, I, and Sharon Steffe. Richard had reached the age of 60 years.
Richard enjoyed working with his hands and tinkering with many things. He was a barterer and also enjoyed wheeling and dealing whenever he could. If someone needed something, he would try his best to help. He had a kind heart and was a registered organ donor. Most of all he loved spending time with his daughter, Destiny. He was a loving dad, son, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Those that will remain grateful for having shared in Richards life are his children, Katie (Dustin) Miller and Destiny Prater; his mother, Sharon Steffe; two grandchildren, Mia and Tucker; three sisters, Dianna Simpson, Debra (David) Stienkemeyer, Cindy (Scott) Schwegmann, and one brother, Steve Steffe, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Prater, I, his step-father, Gene Steffe, his grandparents, and his brother in laws. He was a dear friend to many.
No services are scheduled at this time. The family is in the care of Martin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.martinfuneral.net

I couldn't wait for you to be born. You were one week late. You were my special gift. Grandma was happy to have you on the property to help. If she couldnt figure something out you always could. You always managed to help out anyone who asked or needed it. I miss you. I love you and I will think of you often. Love MOM.

Psalm 40:1 “I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. ”
Until we meet again, I will miss you forever brother. I know you are at peace. No more stress, no more tears, no more struggles or challenges. You are an angel to watch over us, another soul that God has gained. Peace and comfort to all that know you and call you friend and family.
You are my brother and I love you.

My heart is heavy but I know you walk with Jesus. You were baptized and confirmed Lutheran. I pray that you are filled with the light of love and peace in His arms. I pray your baby girl is taken care of. I pray those that knew you remember the good in your heart and find comfort in knowing you no longer suffer any pain. You are loved and never forgotten. Love your little sis.
