Richard Ramirez, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 9, 2024.
Sergeant Richard B. Ramirez, Jr. ("Rick") age 65 formerly of Ventura passed away peacefully and went home to be with our Lord on March 14, 2024.

Rick was born on April 25, 1958 to Raquel "Lucky" Ramirez and Richard B. Ramirez, Sr. in Ventura. Rick graduated from Ventura High School in 1977, served in the Army as a mechanic, and ended his career as a sergeant with an honorable discharge. After Rick's military career, he started his own business in production services and computer technology.

In 1990, Rick met and married his wife, Helena Duran Ramirez. They moved to Arizona, where Rick became an assistant pastor at Praise Church where he mentored the youth program. Rick later moved back to Irvine California to be near family.

Rick had a strong relationship with God, as he previously wrote: "It's not death, I have simply walked through the door our Lord Jesus has provided, for all of us to get to Heaven. Heaven is my current address, I'm with every family member who has gone before me." Rick spent much of his time sharing God's word, and at any given opportunity he would pray for family and friends. Rick loved spending time with his family in Ventura/Santa Paula. Rick enjoyed his music and being the DJ at family functions, he liked to dance, play his saxophone, and fix computers. Rick will be missed by all.

Rick joined his brother Gary Martin Ramirez in heaven. Rick is survived by his wife, Helena Duran Ramirez, God (given) sons: Richard Brambila, Johnny Jimenez, Jose Jimenez, and Daniel Svec, Jr., sisters: Rita Castillo (Pedro), Diana Ramirez, Martha Hurtado Vargas (Jose), and Monica M. Young (Dustin), many grandkids, nieces, nephews, and family and friends who loved him.

Services will be held at New Life Community Church at parking entrance on 1251 N. Rice Ave, Maulhardt Ave, Oxnard, CA 93030 on April 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will close services at noon. Reception to follow at Thille Park, 5350 Thille St., Ventura, CA 93003.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Life Community Church at https://www.newlifeoxnard.com/give. Thank you.
