Richard "Rick" Anders Obituary
He was born August 4, 1951 in El Dorado he was the son of Raybon C. and Lola Bowden Anders and was raised here. He served his country in the National Guard as a young man, and had worked in the grocery business for many years most recently as manager of Mac's Fresh Market in Camden. He was a loving, devoted son, brother, husband, father, and papaw.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Kersh Anders, his sons, Phillip (Katie) and Kevin (Ashley) both of Sherwood, and daughter Teresa Cameron (Jon T.) of El Dorado, his brothers Allen (Pam) of Chicago, IL, Billy Wayne (Barbara) of Owasso, OK, and David (Linda) of Magnolia, AR, and his sister Diana Carden (Robert) of Smackover as well as four grandchildren, Nathan and Amy Anders, Blake Anders, and Demi Cameron.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado with Rev. Steve Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Smackover Cemetery, with military honors, under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. To 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Young's.
Memorials may be made to UCAPs, 1000 Sunset Road, El Dorado, AR 71730 or to the American Diabetes Association, Arkansas Affiliate, Inc. 212 Natural Resources Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205.

I remember Ricky , I grew up around Ricky , I can take you and show you where we lived at where I called the good ol' days . I served in the National Guard with Ricky , I can still remember some of his brothers . My parents were good friends with his parents , I can even remember his grandparents , they were good people , his grand dad was a fine preacher . It was always my pleasure to call on Rick when I was in the grocery business; a compassionate man to all people. His smile was the biggest when he talked of his family. The Anders Family has my deepest sympathy and my prayers.

Amazing man and amazing boss. As a former employee of his I can only recall positive things about Rick. I remember it like it was yesterday we would pull our phones out to show off the latest pictures of our kids and his grands. Ricky was a gentle giant who always believed in helping others. He was the man that all fathers wished that their daughter would meet and marry. His two sons and daughter are just like their father, always happy to see you and greet you with a smile. They are the nicest people you will ever meet. Ricky has raised his children to respect others. Our hearts have been ripped out and crushed. We will feel this pain every December. I wouldn't with this type of pain on anyone. Prayer is what we all need the most. Ricky will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was called home to be with God. Peggy was truly blessed to have had you as her husband. I knew Rick for about 20 years through soft drink companies I've worked for, and found him to always be fair and considerate of all vendors that serviced his store. Peggy, Our hearts are heavy. Rick was a good man. Rick and I would often reminisce about the grocery days. We first met in 78. Although I have not traveled southern Arkansas in ten years, you never forget the people you liked. I always looked forward to seeing Rick and talking with him. Rick touched a lot of people in his life. Not many men can say that. My thoughts are with you and his loving family.

I was on a walk in the neighborhood one day and came up on Mr.Rick as he worked in the yard. I thanked him for being a great boss and example for me as a teen working at Piggly Wiggly. He smiled and thanked me. I never thought that would be the last time to see him. Praying for you all. He was a good guy.

He helped me very much when I had a little Italian restaurant, not only by giving me the best deals on food, but by coming in almost every day and ordering his favorite sandwich plate.
