Richard Ritsche Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 27, 2024.
Richard Theodore Ritsche, known affectionately as Rich, passed away on August 24, 2024, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, at the age of 80. Born on June 7, 1944, in St. Cloud, MN, he was a cherished member of the community and a beloved figure among his extensive family and friends.

Rich had a vibrant and warm personality, always bringing humor and intelligence into the lives of those around him. He had a deep love for his family, friends, and his cherished cats, with Ernie being his most recent feline companion. Rich's passion for automobiles was evident throughout his life-from riding motorcycles across the country in his younger years with the dry riders to cherishing his beautiful Corvette and showcasing it in car shows during his later years.

Professionally, Rich dedicated many years to Woodcraft Industries as a kiln operator after serving as a custodian and boiler operator at Cathedral High School. His commitment to his work was as steadfast as his devotion to his hobbies.

Rich was a man of faith, actively involved in the Hagen Center, where he found spiritual solace.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter Stephanie Messelt, son Justin Ritsche, sisters Marita, Emily, Sherry, Estelee, and Lanette, and his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Rich was preceded in death by his son Jeff Ritsche, brother Tom Ritsche, and his parents Theodore and Agnes Ritsche.

A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 11 AM on September 10th at the Hagen Center, located at 340 7th Ave S, St Cloud, MN 56301. Rich's life was a testament to the joy and love he shared with all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
