In Loving Memory of Richard Rossi

Richard David Rossi, a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather, passed away on October 10, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a pillar of strength, resilience, and unwavering love for his family. Richard's memory will forever remain in our hearts. He was 77 years old.

The first born of Peter Rossi and Barbara Patorio Rossi, Richard was born and raised in the vibrant city of San Francisco with his sister Gail (Rossi) Figoni. He embraced life with a strong work ethic and affinity to always do the right thing. A career spanning over forty years, Richard was a skilled general contractor who left a lasting legacy through his work. His commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Richard was the loving husband of Linda (Fidichiero) Rossi for 55 years, a partnership characterized by interdependence, resilience and companionship. Their enduring love was a true example of unwavering commitment.

As a father, Richard was a constant source of guidance and shared his knowledge with his son, Stephen Rossi, and daughter, Jennifer (Rossi) Merritt. He instilled in them the values of hard work, determination, and the importance of family. His legacy lives on through them.

Richard was a proud and devoted grandfather to three cherished grandchildren: Stella Merritt, Griffin Merritt, and Valentino Rossi. His love for them knew no bounds, and he relished every moment spent with them. His wisdom, generosity, and warmth enriched their lives in countless ways.

In his leisure time, Richard was an avid hobbyist. He had a keen eye for photography, a passion for model trains and cars, and his beloved boat, "The Ricky-D," was his sanctuary, a place where he found peace and tranquility on the water.

When he wasn't pursuing his hobbies, Richard was a skilled handyman, tirelessly tinkering around the house. His resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities were second to none. A homebody at heart, he found solace in the company of family and the comfort of his own abode.

Richard's legacy will endure through the memories he created with his loved ones, the projects he completed with care, and the countless conversations and teachings he shared with family and friends. His enduring generosity and determination will forever be an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife Linda Rossi, son Stephen Rossi and his wife Arieth Barredo, daughter Jennifer Merritt and her partner Mo Wark, his grandchildren Valentino Rossi, Stella Merritt, Griffin Merritt, his sister Gail Figoni and her husband Mel Figoni.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Richard's honor.

A private celebration of life will take place in November.

Rest in peace, Richard (aka Ricky-D, Pops, Nonno)

We are grateful for the love and support of Richard (and Linda) in welcoming our family (The Barredo's) into his. He built a legacy for the Rossi family and passed on the merits of standing by your partner, hard work and being an expert in your craft to his children. We know this will flow to his grandchildren and continue on for generations. We also thank him for his Service while serving his Country. He is forever in our hearts. Sending lots of love and prayers to the Rossi family.

I will miss my uncle Richard. Anytime I had a question about my house, I knew who to call. He always had time to answer all of my questions involving home repairs..he seemed to enjoy helping others. He was a true craftsman. I still marvel at the work he and his father Peter did at my parents house..beautiful work..attention to every detail. A kind person with a great sense of humor..I´ll always have fond memories..Thanks..and rest in peace
