Richard 'Dick' Scheer, 71, of Hayward, Wis. passed away on Friday, May 20, 2005 at the Spooner Health System. Richard Hubbard Scheer was born Nov. 2, 1933 in Hayward, Wis. the son of Fred and Pearl (Amidon) Scheer. He grew up in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School. Richard married Nancy Roos on April 6, 1957 in Hayward. They owned and operated Scheer's Ghost Lake Lodge and later Scheer's Northwoods Sports. At the time of his death, he was employed by Link Recreational in Minong, WI. Richard was an avid outdoorsmen, and loved to hunt and fish. He was involved with Ducks Unlimited for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Laurie Scheer, Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Fred (Donna) Scheer, Hayward, James (Anne) Scheer, LaGrange, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL SERVICE:11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at the First Congregational Church in Hayward with Pastor David Benson officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. A private interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward at a later time. The Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
