Richard E. Senft

SPRING GROVE Richard E. Senft, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Providence Place in Dover. He was the loving husband of Gloria A. (Arnold) Senft, who passed in 2011. Richard was born in Stoverstown, on February 28, 1938, and was the son of the late Pauline (Shearer) and John Senft. He graduated from Spring Grove High School class of 1956 and earned an Assoc. Degree in Engineering from Penn State, graduating in 1959. He worked for KBA Motter Printing Press in East York for many years and retired in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stoverstown, and a member of the Trout Unlimited Assoc., and the Penn State Alumni Assoc. Richard is survived by his sons, Timothy E. Senft of Hellam, Terrence D. Senft and wife, Esther of Dover, and Jeffrey L. Senft and wife, Crystal of Spring Grove; his grandchildren, Luke, Karissa, Sonya, and Samantha; and his great-grandchildren, Sienna, Judah, Jace, Kaleah, Johnathon, and Cora. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stoverstown, 4767 Lehman Road, Spring Grove, with the Rev. Dr. Bradley H. Dayett officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service next to his wife at St. Paul Union Cemetery in Stoverstown. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Family services are under the direction of Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc. of Spring Grove.
