Rich and I worked together for 40 years and over that time our families became like family. We celebrated birthdays, graduations, weddings, birth of grandchildren etc. We also grieved together when either of us lost a beloved family member. Over the years we boated, bowled on a league, went golfing, played cards and even went on hay rides and square dancing. So I have many, many memories of Rich. One in particular that stands out and speaks to his generosity is the time we picked up the Turkeys to pass out to the employees for Thanksgiving. As we were leaving Kroger Rich spotted a homeless person looking in the trash. He hopped out of the car and grabbed one of the turkeys and took it to the guy. My heart is so broken for his wife (my friend) Lorraine, his children, grandchildren and all his friends and employees who will miss him terribly. RIP I will miss you my friend.

Mr. S! A great man who I will sorely miss. My Dad's best friend (besides mom), golf buddy and euchre partner. Growing up as Mr. Stemple's neighbor meant lots of holidays and summer nights together - Christmas Brunches, Santa Claus costumes, trick-or-treating with 4 dads, Fourth of July picnics, volleyball matches galore, playing Pickle in the front yard with Dad and Mr. S as the catchers/taggers, being my baby sister Stacy's particular friend - all memories of a happy childhood with the
Selden-Stemple friendship at the center of it all.
And later as an adult: visit in Pensacola, instant connection with Lee, playing golf with him, my occasional euchre partner, multiple trips to the casino, being treated to awesome steak dinners, tour of Drake Enterprise with my 3 sons, comfort at my father's funeral, seeing his love for his grandchildren shine in his whole body.
I will look to all these memories to comfort me especially at Christmas mass where it was always great to get a hug from him.
Love and prayers to all of you - Mrs. S, Kevin, Shelly, and Keith and your families.

Wonderful man back in the day. Haven't seen him in years but the fact he broke his leg playing at Kern Field gave me the opportunity to start in center field at St. Lad's. Hope his family, especially Lorraine, is doing as good as expected.
My prayers to all of you guys. Sto Lat.

So many memories of the one-and-only Mr. S!
My dad's best friend (besides mom), euchre partner, and golf buddy. Growing up being next-door neighbors with Mr. Stemple meant a lot of shared holidays and family fun: Christmas brunches, Santa Claus costumes, summer picnics, volleyball tourneys, night tag, front yard Pickle games with Mr.S and my dad being the catchers/taggers, him being a super special friend to my baby sister. Wonderful childhood memories with the Selden-Stemple friendship always at the core.
And as an adult - Pensacola visit, occasional euchre partner, instant connection with my husband, golfing with Lee and Mike, consoling at my father's funeral, many casino visits, steak dinner treats, touring Drake Enterprise with my 3 sons, seeing what an awesome Papa he was through FB pictures.
All these wonderful memories will console me especially at Christmas Eve mass when I will miss Mr. S's hug the most.
