Richard Takacs Highland, IN Richard Takacs, age 74, of Highland, IN, passed away August 16, 2007. He is survived by two children: Jennifer (Mike) Massey of Griffith, IN and Richard S. Takacs of Highland, IN; four grandchildren: Steven, Daniel, Samantha and Ricky; one brother, Don (Sheila) Takacs of Schererville, IN. Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; one brother, John; and one sister, Vida. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN with Ken Weldon, Minister, officiating. Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home. Rich was a 1951 Hammond High School graduate. He married in June of 1962; they built a home in Highland and lived there for 40 years. Rich loved sports and coached little league baseball during the 1970's after retirement from the Hammond Clinic. He enjoyed IU basketball and spending time with his grandchildren. At the time of his death, Rich was a member of the First Church of Christ in Highland, IN. We are thankful that now he has two good legs.
