Richard Todd Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 17, 2025.
C. Richard Todd, born on March 12, 1949, in Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on January 19, 2025, in Folsom, California. A proud veteran, devoted family member, and loyal friend. Richard lived a life marked by integrity, laughter, and unwavering independence. Richard served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. His military service was a defining chapter in his life-one that shaped his deep appreciation for freedom and his enduring love for his country. Following his time in the military, Richard embarked on a distinguished career with Bank of America that spanned over three decades. He held various roles in management, auditing, operations, and loan center administration. Made many long lasting friendships. Richard's life was rich with passions that reflected his bold spirit and zest for living. He had a love for hunting, camping, and fishing-activities that connected him to nature and brought him peace. His enthusiasm for cars and motorcycles was matched only by his fondness for cowboy boots and hats. Whether enjoying junk food or savoring a good steak, Richard embraced life's simple pleasures with gusto. He was known for telling stories that could light up a room-his blue eyes twinkling with mischief as he teased his grandchildren with affection. Laughter followed him wherever he went; it was one of the many ways he showed love to those around him. Richard is lovingly remembered by his wife (55 years) Colleen; their children Kelly (Lisa) and Ryan (Jenn); grandchildren Cadence, Logan, Casper, and Clover; mother Kathleen; sister Linda (Dan); niece; nephews; cousins; and many wonderful friends who were like family. Among them were longtime best friends Manual (Kaye), Larry (Verna), John (Lisa), and Linda. He was preceded in death by his father Charles and dear friend Roy. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Family members may be contacted for further details regarding the venue. Richard lived life on his own terms-with courage, humor, loyalty, and heart. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. He is now in his heavenly home.
