Richard “Mr. Dick Frederick Wallace, a Veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the age of 76. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Virgin Vallee Wallace. Loving father of Debbie W. Culotta (wife of Tommy) and Donna Wallace. Son of the late Albert & Edna Wallace. Brother of the late Edna and Jay Wallace. Proud grandfather of Paige Culotta and Laine Culotta. He is also fondly remembered by his dear relatives, Marion & Howell Merwin, George Vallee Jr. and the late Albertine & George Vallee Sr. and Shirley Vallee, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Richard was a native of Brooklyn, NY and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, where he was a long-honored employee of Life of Virginia, but especially enjoyed many memorable and rewarding years with Patton’s Catering. Following Hurricane Katrina, Richard resided with his family in Covington, LA. His last 8 months were spent in the care of Chateau de Notre Dame in New Orleans, LA. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and brother, who loved his music and treasured his family. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Chateau de Notre Dame for their professional care and compassion when it was needed most. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Most Holy Trinity Church, 4465 Highway 190 East Service Rd., Covington, LA on Wednesday, July 21st from 9:30AM – 11:30AM, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:30AM.
