Grandpa Richie came into my life when I was a little girl, and he immediately won me over with his boyish humor and sweet smile. Now as a grown woman, the love he showered on me throughout my life he gave to my husband and daughter. The warmth he showed to Olivier, who was timidly coming into a new family and country, helped Olivier feel he had a place amongst us. Their late night conversations about Europe during the war and New York City gave him a small glimpse of the wonderful person I had known all my life. He had so much to teach us all about life and how to live it to its fullest, to its sweetest. He showed us all what true love and dedication are as he selflessly and lovingly took care of Grandma Peg through several medical battles. The kind gests that he always had towards everyone, his attention to other's needs before his own are a statement of his character. He was a great man, a loving man, a man that made you laugh and left you in awe. Full of stories and adventures, he light up a room where ever he went. He served his country, his family and his friends with courage and strength. I'm so glad he had the oppurtunity to meet his granddaughter and lavish her with the same love he has given the rest of the family for so many years. He will be terribly missed, always remembered.

Mr. Weise was the cutest, sweetest man, and I enjoyed the few times I got to spend with him. He was always there with a smile or something funny to say. The world has lost a good soul. Hugs and love go out to his family.
