Richard Wilson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully at home on September 2, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on December 18, 1952, in Tacoma, Washington, he spent his life rooted in the community he loved. A proud alumnus of Pacific Lutheran University, he carried a lifelong curiosity and enthusiasm for learning that enriched his life and those around him.

A retired member of the Army Reserves, he served his country with quiet dedication and honor. Always an avid outdoorsman and a passionate treasure hunter-whether hiking through the forests of the Pacific Northwest or searching for hidden gems in the most unexpected places, he always chased adventure with an easy smile and a spark of curiosity that never faded.

A person with a mischievous sense of humor and playful spirit, he had a rare gift for making others smile. Whether through a well-timed joke, a gentle tease, or his quick wit, he brought joy and laughter wherever he went.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Lisa (Matt) Bouchard and Jamie (Dan) Deering, and his cherished grandchildren: Lillian Sprague, Brynna Bouchard, and Maverick Bouchard. His legacy lives on in their lives and in the countless memories shared with family and friends.

Above all, he will be remembered for his generous heart, steadfast spirit, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. His stories, laughter, and warmth will live on in the many lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 1315 N Stevens St, Tacoma WA, where we will gather to honor his memory and celebrate a life well-lived.

He is deeply missed but forever loved.

Rick will be greatly missed. I worked with Rick for six years at Dominos. We had so many great conversations about his beloved metal detecting and rock hounding. He would proudly show me his latest finds, always tagged with date and location. He brought in a number of times his amazing agates he had found that he had polished up nicely.
He was just a dear friend. Always had an open ear to things going on in my life. His gentle chuckle will surely be missed. His past work in the banking business and his family heritage were great topics. We were all blessed at work come Christmas time when he brought in his Norwegian shortbread cookies and his no bake ones.
God speed buddy, God speed! I sure will miss you.
