It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ricki Alexander, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on April 17, 2025.
Born and raised in New York, Ricki spent most of her life in Monterey, California, before moving to Jacksonville, Florida, nearly ten years ago to be closer to her family.
Ricki was a vibrant soul who thrived on connecting with people and hearing the stories that shaped their lives. She deeply loved her many friends and treasured the moments they spent together, whether chatting on the phone, going out to lunch, attending yoga class, or shopping. A few of her favorite things were family vacations, walking on the beach, and celebrating holidays and birthdays with unparalleled enthusiasm.
Her one and only grandchild, Zayne, was the light of her life. His creativity and energy brought her endless joy. Ricki was a loving mother to Jenny and Matt, a cherished sister to Sharon, a devoted mother-in-law to Beth and Sam, and a gracious sister-in-law to Paul.
Ricki's spirit was strong, her humor infectious, and her empathy boundless. Luna, her rescue cat and constant companion, spent many hours curled up in her lap, a reminder of the love that surrounded her.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, John, the father of her children, with whom she maintained a lifelong friendship, as well as by her parents, Albert and Shirlee.
Ricki will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Memorial donations may be made to the Audubon Society, one of her favorite charities, at audubon.org.
