I was so saddened to hear of Rita's passing. She was always very sweet when she would visit Bob during his stays at Rex. May she rest in peace as she awaits meeting as on the other side. Nurse Brenda

So very sorry to hear about Rita. She was a good friend to my Mom (Eleanor Amell) when she lived at Jordan Oaks. They were Bingo and Wii bowling buddies. Rita always greeted me with that beautiful smile and the twinkle in her eye when I visited there. She never failed to ask about my Mom, even after she moved on to assisted living. I share in your grief, as I lost my Mom on 1/22/14. Prayers of comfort to Bob and the entire family.

Dear Uncle Bob and Deacy family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Aunt Rita was a wonderful woman and we will always remember the great times we had at your house in Medford. Especially Aunt Rita teaching me how to swim and her Swedish meatballs. We are thinking of you at this difficult time.

I was so lucky to have you in my life as I grew up. You are one of the most wonderful and caring women I have ever met. Your feisty personality and heartwarming smile will forever be missed. I will miss all the times I would bring Sammie over and watch her chase the squirrels. Many more memories I will hold in my heart. I love and miss you nana!

Kathy and Family,
All of you are in my thoughts at this time. There are so many wonderful memories to comfort you. Many times I was so kindly invited to your beach outings and always had a blast and truly felt part of the Deacy family. Your mother was a beautiful and very fashionable lady. Your mom will certainly be missed by so many. Please give your dad my love and a big hug from me.

Nana,
I have been so blessed to have you and Papa in my life as grandparents. I am so glad you guys made the move down South so we were able to spend so much time together. From Thanksgivings, meals at the club, Graduations, dance recitals, porch sittin', weddings, first relationships, you have always been there for us all. I am so lucky that I had a woman like you to look up to in my life. Your faith, kind heart, generosity, and love for life are just a few of your shining characteristics I have always admired and hope I can carry out the way you did.
I always knew I could count on you for a great gossip sesh ;) First and foremost, we always talked about "your sam" followed by all the juicy news of what was going on at Jordan Oaks. I sure hope I will be as loved and as popular as you one day!
I love you with all my heart & miss you everyday. I am just so thankful that I know I have the BEST angel looking over me now :)
Love you always,
Jessi

To the Deacy family, It has been my pleasure and blessing to have known Rita and Bob. My mother Evelyn McCarthy first meet them upon her arrival at Jordan Oaks. They were two of the most gracious and friendly people there. I often enjoyed dinner with my mother, Rita & Bob we often shared our mutual "Irish" and Yankee heritage. Bob had mentioned his military service and his time spent with horses, well we found our mutual love. I am a horse owner! for 2 years Rita & Bob came to the NC State Fair to see my horse in competition we had a GREAT time, the laughter and love was always there with Rita I will miss her. I thank you all for sharing your mother with me.

Nana,
It is hard to believe that you are gone. I love you so very much. I am so grateful that you and papa moved to NC 7 years ago, because it gave me the chance to spend so much time with the two of you. I loved being able to drive to your tattenhall house or Jordan oaks any time I wanted. Although I complained about it every day, working at Jordan oaks through high school and college was such a blessing. I got to see you and papa every day and come hide in your room to have a Pepsi when I needed a break from cleaning toilets :). After work I would get to play bingo with you and then go to your room to watch trashy tv and read people magazine.
You were such a loving, caring (and sassy!) nana and were always so fun to talk with. I could always count on you to engage in gossip sessions. I have so many wonderful memories of you and with you that will make me smile every day. You have a piece of my heart and I will love you and miss you forever.
Love always,
Katelyn

Dear Bob and Family,
My Mother, Evelyn McCarthy was so happy when she moved into Jordan Oaks and met Rita. They became fast friends and enjoyed each others company. My Mom was like a teenager again when she was around Rita, laughing, joking and a bit of gossiping together. It's never to late to find a best friend! My Mom will miss her terribly. We are so sorry for your loss.

Uncle Bob, and all my Cousins,
I express my most heartfelt sympathy on your Mom's death. Aunt Rita certainly was one of the most vibrant people in my life. I have been so blessed to have been close to her for so many years. From my early years playing with Estelle Grace on Fern Rd. to running on the beach at Point Shirley in Winthrop, my memories were always of great fun and great laughs. For years, my frequent visits to 26 Fern Rd. to visit your mother and father were of great enjoyment for me. Aunt Rita and I loved so many of the same things from TV shows to baking. For years I made her cranberry bread and passed it out at holiday times, just as she did. The pies were a little too much! She tried to show me how to roll the dough, but that was never going to happen! She was so content baking and often we would sit in her kitchen and have some tasty treat and a cup of tea.
For a few years she took care of my son, Brian when I went back to work. We had more laughs over the things that my Brian would do with Kevin, Bobby and Brian. They would encourage his crazy antics, of course.
Aunt Rita called my faithfully to check on my parents and know what was going on with all of my family. She recently called my on my birthday, something that she never forgot to do over the years.
I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit them at Jordan Oaks in 2012. She was so happy there. I would hear all about all of her friends that she ate with; played bingo with and had great parties with.
Aunt Rita's passing will leave a great void in all of our lives. I love you, Aunt Rita and will miss you.

Mom
I will always remember the good times we shared together as a family and you always leading the way . Paulette , Jessi , Robbie and I were so blessed to have you and Dad move to NC to spend those last wonderful years with us . We will always remember having you over to Holly Springs to visit and attend those great buffets at Devils Ridge Club. The Club managers and staff always knew to Rita and Bob we're coming so they would have the Pepsi with half ice ready followed by the lobster roll and the corn beef sandwich .
As long as Dad is still at Jordan Oaks I will make sure to have Sammie visit and chase Big Al away from the Bird Feeder
You will always be with me
Love Bobby

Nana, We miss you dearly. You always lit the room with your sarcastic personality and that is what I will miss the most. You always had such a welcoming smile that I will never forget. Keelie was wondering when we were coming back up there to visit her Great Nana on the way home last visit - I'm so happy you and her got to see each other as she loved you dearly. I know you will be her guardian angel as you were and always will be. We love you - <3 Danielle, Chris and Keelie (The boss)

It has been a wonderful time knowing all the Deacy family. I felt so Close to Rita and Bob, I had to call them Aunt Rita and Uncle Bob. My heart goes out to all of you. My prayers are with Uncle Bob, I know how much he will miss her. I am so glad my Mom (Evelyn) had the chance to be their friend, and she shared the Irish heritage with Bob and Rita. Auntie Rita,
How very blessed we have been to have had you in our lives. As kids, Rick and I couldn't wait for the summer to come and our long awaited treasured trips "HOME" to Medford. We would run into "287" and hug and kiss Nana and Uncle Phil then crawl up the stone wall to get to you and Uncle Bobby and our wonderful cousins. You would give us the biggest hug and Ricky would always be eyeing the counter to make sure your famous Chocolate Cake was waiting and it always was :)
Oh how I remember those summer days in your yard with the worlds greatest toys which includes the huge box your new dryer came in and Uncle Bob totally covered it in ducktape so it wouldn't break. We spent hours a day getting in that box and rolling down the hill. It's amazing that none of us ever ended up in the emergency room but I do remember you out in the yard with that bottle of bactine and bandaids and always a cold "orange aid" to take away the pain.
Thank you for teaching all 16 of Nana's grandchildren to swim down at Winthrop. You were always out on the beach with us and telling us to "get in the water, it's not cold ". Because of you , I could always out swim my friends and people would tell me I had great form....that was all you. It wasn't until I stepped foot in the water in the Outer Banks that I realized not all Ocean water was 61 degrees!!!
I will never forget all of our phone conversations over the years when we would be roaring laughing over little things. It was wonderful to be able to come down and visit you the past four years and meet your new fiends at Jordan Oaks. I'm sure no one will ever be able to top you and Uncle Bobby in those crazy Halloween Costumes!!!
My Mom and Dad met you at the Pearly Gates I'm sure. Along with Uncle Bill and Uncle Quinny, Nana Deacy and your brothers and sister. They most likely ran old Saint Peter over. Heaven gained another angel the day you left us all and entered Eternity. The Saints have absolutely no idea how much fun they are in for :)
I will never forget your giving and generous spirit, your love of life and how you embraced even difficult times with your strong faith and fabulous sense of humor.
I will love you forever Aunt Rita and I will cherish your memory.
With much love,
Estelle Ann

Thank You to The Deacy and The Westaway Family for Sharing Their mother with Me. She Always Made Me Feel Like Part of the Family by Her Welcoming Smile:) Back Door is the Door For Friends and Family. She would always Hold Up her Right Hand as to Say Who Is There? Come sit with me a while and if Gunsmoke was on TV turn in to Mute Bob. Rita did not want to Discuss the weather. She was the Best Guest Hostess she always wanted the Rest of The Story.
I was Given the Real Test of Worthiness One Day when she agreed to Let me Escort Her to the Mall. We agreed "What Happens in The Dressing Room Stays in the Dressing Room."
Rest In Peace Pretty Lady +. Love You Kathy Sims

Hi Mumma,
I know you are still keeping an eye on all of us, because you cared about your family most of all! Then a Brigham's hot fudge vanilla ice cream sundae, always having a good tan, a great story which always had so many good laughs within it, your People magazine (always current with your Hollywood pals), soaking up the sun on the Cape or Nantucket, going for drives or long walks just to enjoy being outside and in nature, hanging with your pool pals, dinner with the girls every Friday night, Bingo!, watching the Pats, Red Sox etc. and any good story on Hallmark Channel especially the Christmas ones. Fried clams at the Clam Box, fried oysters at Woodmans, fried chicken at NOFO, sandwiches at Hot Point, great bbqs at Kathy's, Bobby's, Kev's and Brian's house. Reeses peanut butter cups, Hershey milk chocolate minis, cupcakes, red velvet cake and of course your own famous baked goods -choc. chip cookies, chocolate cake, cranberry bread, apple and blueberry pie, coffee cake, Sunday dinners..and thank you for always making Christmas and our birthdays so special!
Moving to NC at age 82, setting up house and learning your way around the town still driving the Buick. The great times and memories are endless for me, you are the best and will live in my heart forever.
We have all been so blessed by your magnificent presence and spirit in our lives and certainly, we are better people because of you, your faith in and love for us all.
Your humor, kindness, compassion, generosity and love of life are just some of the wonderful gifts you have given me, and I know you will continue to give to all of us because you were our #1 Mummy and now you are our #1 Angel. I am sure you are rearranging heaven and getting things organized for God right now.
Thank you for always loving us and always being there for us. Including my little pup, Lilly.
Love, hugs & kisses,
Susan

Love you Nana with all my heart. You were the strongest women I have ever known and I found strength in watching go survive cancer all those years ago. When I joined the Catholic Church you were the example I wanted to follow and took Rita as my catholic name. I will cherish all the memories of Cape Cod and Wrightsville Beach as we share the love of sitting in the sun. I'm glad we got to live in the same area finally and enjoyed our outings together. You were the best mom and nana to our family and we will miss you forever. I know you are happy now in heaven with all those that have gone before you and we will see each other again
With all my love from your daughter in law

Mrs. Deacy,
I will always treasure the fond memories of you and Mr. Deacy; driving up and down Mammola Way and always stopping if I was outside to talk. It was clear that you loved seeing all the children in the neighborhood. It was also very clear just how much you loved your children, grandchildren and I have no doubt your great grandchild
brought you such joy. Thank you for
being such a wonderful memory in my
life and that of all my girls.
Love to all the Deacys
