GITZEL _ Rita Mary 1944 - 2006 We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, Rita Gitzel of Airdrie, who passed away after a brave battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the age of 62 years. Rita is survived by her children, Liana (Rick) Halseth, Shane (Sharon) Gitzel; her four grandchildren, Alicia, Shyla, Ashlynn and Kale; her five siblings, Olee Wowk, Georg Wowk, Olivia Nykolyshyn, Marsha Jones, Irene Gaber; as well as extended family. Rita was predeceased by her father Stephan Wowk and mother Maria Rahnell. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway's Chapel of the Bells on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Afterwards the family invites attendees to join them for a light meal and a chance to share memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Association, 101, 145 Front Street East, Toronto, ON M5A 1E3 (Telephone 1-877-413-7970, www.ovariancanada.org ). I have only just recently learned of Rita's passing, and am deeply sorry to hear the news. I worked with Rita for 7 years, and kept in touch with her for a short time after that. There is a great void in many lives now, as she touched so many people. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this wonderful woman who will most certainly be missed.
