McCOOL – Rita D. (Conrad), 87, Lilly, went to her eternal rest May 20, 2009, at Golden Living – Hillview, Altoona. Born Oct. 23, 1921, in Lilly, she was the daughter of the late Regis and Eleanor (Eckenrode) Conrad. Preceded in death by husband, Leonard W. McCool, and one granddaughter. Survived by children: William, and wife, Gloria, Richland; Patrick, and wife, Dorothy McCool, Lilly; Mary Agnes, and husband, Richard Slebodnik, Lilly; Regis, and wife, Collette McCool, Portage; and Ann, and husband, Freddy Oster, Indiana, Pa.; also five grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Sister of Francis and Dorothy Mae Conrad, Lilly, and sister-in-law, Phylis Beres, Lilly. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rita retired from Lilly Dress Factory in 1984, after 20 years of service, and worked at Ben Franklin store, following her graduation. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly, where vigil for the deceased will be held Friday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly, the Rev. Monsignor John R. Sasway, VF, celebrant. Committal, St. Brigid's Cemetery, Lilly. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Lilly Ambulance Association or Lilly Volunteer Fire Company.
