Rita McDOUGALL

McDOUGALL, Rita (nee Bergin) On Friday, August 8, 2003 after a lengthy illness at the age of 83. Beloved mother of Leanne (Pierre Dupont), Gatineau, Denis (Cheryl Holtz), Calgary, Bob (Donna LaHaise), Aylmer; and Murray "Gord" of Ottawa. Much loved Grandma of Neil (Susan), Dylan, Scott, David, James, Robert and Elizabeth, all of Calgary; and Katie, Mike and Julie of Aylmer. Lovingly remembered by sisters Evelyn (Jack) Perdue, Ottawa and Doreen (Patrick) McMahon, Calgary; also survived by a dear sister-in-law Evelyn Bergin, Trenton and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband C.M. (Duke) McDougall (1982), her parents Denis Bergin and Stella Houlahan, her sisters Mary (late Connie) Quinn, Teresa (late Brian) Connolly and Kay (late Bob) Luckham and her only brother Joseph. At mom's request there will be no visitation and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Fallowfield on August 22 at 10 a.m. followed by interment of her ashes in the parish cemetery. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers of CHSLD Vigi in Gatineau who treated her with love and dignity in the final years of her life. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a blood donation at Canadian Blood Services or a memorial donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
