Rita Nadeau

Rita Nadeau, age 89, of Salem, Oregon, passed away surrounded by family.

Rita was born to Francis and Harriet Hackett in Salford, England. In April 1960, Rita immigrated to the United States and first worked in Beverly Hills, California. In 1966, Rita Hackett married Tom Nadeau. They lived in Glendale and Burbank before moving to Fountain Valley, California where Rita stayed at home with her children before taking work as a baker. In 1979, the family moved to Salem, Oregon where she worked as a baker for Safeway before becoming a bakery manager for Roth's.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Lisa Dunn (Brian); son, Tom Nadeau (Julie); six grandchildren - Ryan, Emma, Luke, Andrew, Katelyn, and Christopher; brother, Tony; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; brothers, Francis and Gerard Hackett; and sister, Celia Norris.

The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during the months leading up to her death. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Elks Lodge in Keizer, Oregon on Saturday, May 13, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
