Marilyn M. Roush, age 75, of Canton passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2006 in Manor Care Nursing Facility following an extended illness. Born in Canton on December 16, 1930 to the late Christ and Glades Nelson, she attended Canton South High School and worked for many years as a waitress at several restaurants primarily the Surry Restaurant at the Downtowner. Much of Marilyn's life was spent sharing love, time and stories with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Roush; daughter, Susan Mateer; grandson, Corey Roush; two brothers, Wayne and Howard Nelson. Survivors include her three sons, Terrance Hardie, John Mark Roush and John Edward Roush; five daughters, Darlene (Tim) Butterfield, Melissa (Terry) Burt, Lynn (Randy) Johnson, Kimberly Jolliff and Juanita Hudson. There are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2006 in the REED FUNERAL HOME CANTON CHAPEL WITH Rev. Deana Reed officiating. Burial to follow in Warstler Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Reed Funeral Home to help defray the family's expenses.
