Rita Josephine Titchener of Syndenham, England, passed away July 5, 2014 in Comox, B.C. Celebration of Life will be held at the Comox Legion in September. Exact date to be determined. Rita was born in Sydenham, England. Rita immigrated to Toronto, Canada, in 1958 with her husband Peter and sons Peter and Michael. Rita was an excellent executive secretary and bookkeeper until early retirement. Knitting was her favourite hobby; there are many adorable babies wearing knitted sweaters by Nanna Rita. Rita had an infectious laughter and beautiful singing voice. She will be remembered by her family: Peter (Ginger) Mike (Kath) and her six grandchildren Tyler (Courtney), Jordan (Kerry), Kendall, Hudson, Kasey (Matt), Mackenzie and her great-granddaughter Elodie. Rita was preceded by her husband Pete F. Titchener, who passed May 23, 1985. Rita is survived by her sisters Joan, Anne and Tina, as well as their families. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #401-495 Dunsmuir Street, Nanaimo, B.C. V3R 6B9.
