Bob Anderegg, age 87, of Scottsdale AZ, died peacefully in Scottsdale AZ on December 31, 2024.

Bob was born on August 24, 1937 to John and Elizabeth (Hotz) Anderegg in Monroe, WI. He attended Monroe High School where he excelled in basketball. After high school, he received a full scholarship to Michigan State University. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and a member of the Michigan State University Basketball Team. His team took the Spartans to the school's first two Big Ten Championships and first Final Four appearance in 1957. He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors. In 1959, he was honored with the Big Ten Medal of Honor, which was given to the top student athlete at each conference school. After college, he was selected by the New York Knicks in the 1959 NBA Draft. He also played for the Hawaii Chiefs before retiring in 1962. Later in life, in 2008, Bob was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

He went through four years of ROTC training and was commissioned as a second lieutenant. He served a six-month stint of active duty in the Army.

Bob married Nancy Thomas on June 14, 1963 in Rockford, IL. They had three children: Mark, Lisa and Amy. He went on to form J.D. Mott, an Industrial Distribution Company, with his three partners. Eventually, the company was acquired by Thrall Enterprises where he remained as President.

He was known as "Big Bob" because of his big hands and impressive stature. Bob was so proud of his Swiss heritage and played the accordion. His hobbies were working out at the gym, playing cards, traveling, fishing, golf and reading. Bob was a hardworking, humble and generous man who was devoted to his family.

Bob is survived by his son, Mark Anderegg; daughters, Lisa (Brad) Nazzarini and Amy Anderegg; grandsons, Peyton and Logan Gregory; brother, John (Hedy) Anderegg; sisters, Margaret (Richard) Wyss and Ruth (Charles) Ingold; and his many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; sisters, Helen (Harold) Furman, Lillian (C. Ward) Cummings and Clara (C. Thomas) Waelti.
