Cathy... in the short time we knew you and Bruce at Marietta First Baptist, we loved you both, and your girls. My favorite memory is of Bruce making clothes for you! We chatted about patterns and skirt making outside your office door. Bill and I are grieved with you and send prayers for comfort and healing. Denise Fortson

I knew Bruce as a fellow member of the baritone section in the Tennessee High Band. I was glad when we reconnected on Facebook, I just wish I had been able to reconnect in person at some point. It was easy to see from his posts on Facebook how much he loved his family and how proud he was of his daughters. Cathy, Gracie, and Abby my prayers are with you. He will always be in your hearts.

I knew Bruce from Bristol, TN where we both grew up. He was always kind to everyone and we had a couple of mutual very good friends. Prayers for the close friends and family. Kay Taylor Hume

When I think of Bruce, the word that best describes him is Gentleman! Always a true example of Christ. We met at Smitha and I got to work with him for five years. He always encouraged me and was always ready to help! Throw a party for students or support a celebration for others. We were birthday twins! Both born on 06/03, but I am a year older. You are missed!

My first memory of Bruce is when he told me I was on fire. We were at a Sunday school gathering and new to First Baptist Church. I thought he was talking about my fervor for the Lord, but my sweater had gotten too close to a candle flame. That was the first of many wonderful times spent with Cathy and Bruce. We have many treasured memories and much love for the Anderson family.

Bruce was our next door neighbor in Bristol when we were children. Our parents were good friends. The neighborhood kids played kick the can, hide and seek, baseball, football and in the creek behind our houses and stayed outside until dark. He always had a smile. I know he will be missed.

First, I want to send love and heartfelt wishes for comfort to all who knew and loved Mr. Anderson. I first met him in 2023 and would often see him in the halls as he guided his class to their next period. He always greeted me warmly.
I had the pleasure of assisting with a luncheon he hosted for the admin department last school season, where he shared stories about his family's china and silverware. I´m grateful for that special moment, especially when he jokingly said, "My wife will get me if I forget anything," as I helped ensure he had everything he needed.
Rest well, Mr. Anderson. You will be greatly missed, and the moments we shared will always be cherished.
With sympathy,
Ms. G

I met Bruce years ago when I was a special education teacher at Smitha Middle School. He was such a nice man... the students and his colleagues loved him! I've enjoyed reading about how he has touched the lives of so many. I know he will be greatly missed.

He was always so helpful. I am a special needs teacher at Smitha and when we would have fire drills, he would always hurry down to help wheel them outside and back in. I loved hearing his stories about his wife and kids. He will be missed by many. He is probably hosting a party right now with Jesus!

Bruce and Cathy were in many of the same seminary classes with me. They always seemed to be more than a couple. They were the best of friends. They were genuinely kind and encouraging to one another. I just can't think of one without the other. Now their children carry within themselves the ability to be kind, encouraging and sincere because their DNA is built by that kind of love, kindness and sincerity.

I worked with him at Smitha Middle School, and I have never seen a man more at home with his love-love of God, love of teaching, love of sharing with others. He is sorely missed here. Rest in God's arms till we see you again.
