Dear Papa, Like sister Muffett, I too have been going back and remembering all the good times and good memories you gave me. You gave all your daughters wonderful wedding receptions at the restaurant and a few years later our babies slept in the family booth while all the laughter and good times were going on around them. Many times we all got together and had our family pictures taken in front of the Anderton badge sign in the main dining room, our babies munching on the special “star fish” you reserved especially for them. I remember fondly the many times you loaded us in the big winnebago for a Destin family vacation, handing out the light blue hats with the big red A on them so you could keep up with all of us on the beach….putting the babies in the room with you and Mom so us older kids could play cards and walk on the beach late into the night. I remember the many times you took us girls with you and Mom to the casino and you didn’t mind when we crashed your room to make you two watch “chick flicks” with us. You probably suffered through more of those girl movies than any man ever…but you never fussed….you always had that big smile on your face…the smile that was always present when the family got together. I remember the hearse you bought for me to use at college. I was the only student able to move all my stuff in one trip. We had many a good time in that big car and received even more stares when I drove it down the street. What can I say, I miss you and I love you, I’ll always love you.

Linda and Family,
I wanted to pass on my deepest sympathy to all of you on the passing of Robert. Your family played a very important role in my life by opening up your home and resturant to me while I attended Memphis State. I remember sitting in the booth talking with Robert, Mr. H, Lisa and Linda on many occassion and you treated me as family. I am truly blessed to say I spent time with Robert and learned many life lessons in Anderton's. May God Bless all of you and comfort with fond memories of a great man.
My prayers are with you all.

Dear Papa, I've been going back thru my memory bank and one of the things that stands out most is how you could be sleeping in the middle of the living room floor and if any of your younger grandkids were there it was inevitable that they were going to jump on your big belly and wake you up. The funny thing is you NEVER got mad even though their unexpected "plunge" would knock the wind out of you. Instead, you would grab that child and start wrestling with them right there in the middle of the floor and both of you would be laughing so hard that your faces would be beet red. Papa, you have no idea how much we miss you and that great boisterous laugh of yours but we understand that those little angels in heaven need a big belly to jump on and one of your famous wrestling matches to boot. We love you, your daughters.

Linda,

I really miss you and the girls. All the good times we had. Robert was such a sweet man and you really took good care of him. I hope daddy met him at the gates and showed him the best places to hunt and fish. I love you.

What fond memories, so many still talk about the restaurant; that wonderful icon of Mid Town Memphis Tn. I will always remember the respect and wonderful customer service EVERYONE received as patrons (not to menation the good food too!) I can just see Mr. Anderton Standing there with a smile to greet you as you made your enterance in to a beatuiful, beatuiful "time warp", a time when things seemed so differnt and wonderful. I always felt I had gone on a vaction when I went there to dine! The Anderton family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Linda & family, We appreciated the many times we visited your restaurant on Madison. Always a smile and good service. Lots of birthday celebrations of friends and family were held there. Times change and things change, but great memories will always be with us all. Our hearts go out to the family and especially to our little angel Miss Linda.
Love Tom Taylor and Kyle Dearen.
