Robert Ardis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 18, 2025.
Robert "Bob" Ardis, 75, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, formerly of South Plainfield, NJ and Brooklyn, NY, passed away in the early hours of April 18, 2025.

Known affectionately as Bob or Bert to his family and friends, Robert was an Army veteran and a dedicated professional who built a long and successful career starting on the trading floor in finance and moving into technology within the financial services industry at the World Trade Center at Lehman Brothers as a First Vice President. Though his career took him far, his heart was always rooted in the friendships he formed in his Brooklyn youth and the close-knit community he found later in life in New Smyrna Beach in his wine clubs. Always proud of his Italian heritage, he took the opportunity in retirement to return to Italy.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Adele (née Banker), in 2013. Together, they raised four children who were the pride of his life: Adam (51), Casey (49), Jessica (43), and Lindsay (40). He is also survived by his daughters-in-law and son-in-law: Riana, Melissa, and Marc Foster.

"Grandpa" as he was known to his grandchildren, leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren and one great grandchild: Casey (27), MacKenna (22), Ethan (21), Paige (19), Jackson (14), Liam (10), Mila (5), Ava (1), Everly (6), and Beckham (4), and his great granddaughter Juniper (2.) His loyal dog, Molly, was his constant companion in retirement.

Robert lived a life full of laughter, loyalty, and love. Whether sharing stories with lifelong friends from Brooklyn, making new memories in Florida, or simply walking Molly along the beach, he brought warmth and humor to those around him.

In accordance with his wishes, Robert will be cremated. His children will honor his life with celebrations to be held in both Florida and New Jersey at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Robert by sharing a story, raising a glass, or simply spending time with the ones you love-just as he would have wanted.
