Robert E. "Bob" Arrowsmith, 90, of Fowler, IL, passed away at 3:45 am Monday, December 20, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. Rev. Steve Disseler will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL.
Friends and Family are invited to Bob's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL.
Bob was born February 3, 1931, in Quincy, IL to Kenneth James and Eleanor (Schultz) Arrowsmith Sr.
He was married to Wilma Jean Schnelle on June 17, 1953, in Quincy, IL. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2007.
Survivors include six children, Debra Miller (Harry) of Quincy, IL, Brent Arrowsmith (Tracy) of Quincy, IL, Randy Arrowsmith of Mendon, IL, Jay Arrowsmith (Jennifer) of Fowler, IL, Scott Arrowsmith (Elizabeth) of Quincy, IL, and Tracey Hieland (Pat) of Quincy, IL; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Hill and Betty Turner; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend of over 13 years, Donna Williams.
In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth James Arrowsmith Jr.; and two sisters, Norma King and Marge Gerst.
Bob was an operating engineer for Local #965 for many years.
Bob loved spending time with his friends, from enjoying a good cup of coffee with them at McDonalds or Dixie Cream Donuts, to visiting with them at ice cream socials and church dinners. In his spare time, he enjoyed following NASCAR, reading the Quincy Herald Whig, and watching MeTV. He also liked to frequent the flea market and Zimmerman's Store in Rutledge, MO. Bob loved staying close to home, often spending time in his garage and at the Paloma Diner, but when he traveled, he especially loved visiting Branson.

Mr. Arrowsmith always had a smile and a wave for anyone driving by. I will miss seeing him sitting on his front porch
