Robert Baisden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 8, 2021.
Robert "Bob" Baisden passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021. He was born August 12, 1935, in New Britain, Connecticut to Charles and Minnie Baisden. Bob graduated from New Britain High School and the University of Connecticut. While at UConn, he played catcher for the baseball team, was Treasurer of Chi Phi Fraternity, and was in the ROTC. A highlight of his college years was playing on the UConn baseball team that went to the College World Series. After college, he served two years as an officer in the Army earning his Airborne patch. His career was in accounting/finance, and he retired as VP of Finance from Warnaco Northwest. Bob was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. He had a strong commitment to his family and church. He is survived by his wife, Merle, his sister Charlene Archambault, his daughters Patricia Romanaggi (Don) and Jill Butcher (Paul) and five grandchildren: Kyle, Max, Sophia, Tori, and Nick. A memorial service will be held in Arizona.
