Robert Ballard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 26, 2025.
Robert Ballard, born June 23, 1945, in Oakland, California, passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 79. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of over 38 years, Ellen Ballard, and their two daughters, Emily Widuch (44) and her husband Paul, and Lauren Ballard (35) and her husband Craig Binder.

Robert was the son of Dorothy Jean Ballard and Estus Elven Ballard. He grew up in Prescott, Arizona, where he graduated and quickly demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit and brilliant mind. His passion for excellence and creativity led him into the fast-paced world of residential and commercial development. For the past 50 years, Robert was a highly awarded custom home builder and developer in the Valley, leaving behind a lasting legacy through his many projects.

In addition to his professional success, Robert had a life rich with culture. He was an avid traveler, a lover of cars, art, and exploring new places. Spending time with his dogs and learning more about cooking also brought him great joy. But above all, Robert cherished the time spent with his family. Nothing made him happier than being with "his girls." He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend, always putting others before himself. He mentored many and never asked for anything in return.

Robert will be sorely missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and tenacity will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arizona Shih-Tzu and Small Breed Rescue
