In the wake of the tragedy in Pittsburg, I remembered that Bob and Joan lived there. We met them at American Hardware shows in the 1970s and 80s and stayed at their home once on our way back home to Long Island. I believe we met Julie as well. Bob and Joan were lovely people, and I recall with fondness the times we sat with them at dinner, joking and allowing a few gin and tonics wipe away the cares of the day. My condolences to the Berger family and to the City of Pittsburg.

I often remember Bob as a friend over the near 40 years we knew each other.
His great smile and resounding reply when asked how he is doing.
