ROBERT JOHN BIXLERBorn: July 7, 1926; in MinneapolisDied: Jan. 6, 2007; in Maryville, Mo.Graduated from Geneva High School in 1944MARYVILLE, Mo. - Robert John Bixler, 80, of Maryville, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at Beverly Healthcare in Maryville.He was born July 7, 1926, in Minneapolis, to George Bixler and Clara (O'Brien) Bixler. They preceded him in death.A 1944 graduate of Geneva High School, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville in 1948.He married Patricia Ann Bosch on Sept. 5, 1948, in Maryville.While serving as a Naval Aviator in the U.S. Navy, Bob was involved in an airplane crash in 1954 in Panama. He was a member of the Maryville First Christian Church.He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bixler of the home in Maryville; two sons, Stephen Michael and wife Julie Bixler of Lees Summit, Mo., and Timothy Brien and wife Margie Bixler of Mandeville, La.; a grandson, Chad Bixler of Lees Summit, Mo.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth and husband Michael Carr of Washington, D.C.; and brother Gordon and wife Dorotha Bixler of Boise, Idaho.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, with a visitation to be held before the service from noon to 1 p.m. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville, Mo.Please sign the guest book at www.kcchronicle.com/obits
