Robert, known to all as Bob, was a real California guy. He loved the outdoors: hiking, swimming, biking, and camping with family and friends. Bob was an altar boy when he attended Saints Felicitas & Perpetua School in San Marino, and he graduated from La Salle High School in Sierra Madre. He went on to graduate from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Engineering Technology. Bob worked for Hewlett Packard for 29 years before retiring in 2005. Bob moved to Rocklin in 1980 and met Shirley the same year. They were married in 1982, and they lived in the same home in Rocklin for 41 years. Bob and Shirley welcomed their two sons, Steven, in 1987, and Shawn, in 1989. He was very active in his son's lives, and enjoyed family time playing sports and travelling. Bob was happy to witness the weddings of his sons to wonderful women, and always looked forward to spending time with his two grandchildren, who were the lights of his life. Family meant everything to Bob. He is survived by his parents, John (Jack) and Dorothy Blakesley; his brothers, John and James (Jim) Blakesley, and their families; his wife, Shirley Blakesley; his son, Steven Blakesley, and Steven's wife and daughter, Autumn and Ruby Blakesley; his son, Shawn Blakesley, and Shawn's wife and son, Tiffany and Thaddeus (Teddy) Blakesley. Besides family, Bob loved his Hewlett Packard family and kept life-long friendships with many co-workers. He looked forward to going to races at the Northern California tracks and was affectionately known as the "beer police" in the family section at All American Speedway. Bob was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Rocklin where he spent many hours volunteering to help raise money to help the children of the world. Please sign the guest book with your memories of Bob so his family and friends can remember the joy of knowing Bob. Robert will be inurned in a niche at Rocklin Cemetery.

Bob was such a positive guy. He was a positive influence in my career at HP and my life. Bob work life was a symposium on how to conduct yourself with grace and display integrity.

Working with Bob was a pleasure. I thoroughly enjoyed my chats with him and we would always joke around my Nordstrom shopping sprees!

Over 50 years ago, Bob and I were classmates. His nickname was the "Gentle Giant" due to his pleasant demeanor and towering height. He will be missed. Rest in peace, my fellow Lancer; Indivisa Manent!"

Bob was an amazingly positive guy through all his fights with cancer. He had his family and a lot of friends supporting and rooting for him each time. I am so very sad he wasn't able to win his last fight. We will all miss him!!! He was a wonderful guy!!!
My sincere condolences go to his family.

Enjoyed working with Bob at HP. He was a steady hand at the tiller. May God's peace surround his family during this time. God Bless, Paul

Dear Shirley & family, I am deeply saddened to hear about Bob's passing today. Bob enjoyed talking about his family, proudly showing photos whenever I saw him.
I will cherish the memories I have and remember what a good friend Bob was. One of the earliest memories was early 80's. It was an HP bus trip to the casinos and I was new to HP. Bob was warm, friendly, funny, and welcomed me into the HP family'. I am thankful to have known Bob for so many years and to call him my friend. Bob will be dearly missed.
Shirley, Steven, and Shawn, may you feel the love, the comfort, and the support of family and friends at this difficult time. Bless you all. Jody
