News Death Notice

MONTGOMERY, Elizabeth Betty 93 of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Englewood, Ohio passed away on November 16, 2009 at Village Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Montgomery of 61 years, her sister Helena Guisinger, her brother Melvin Guisinger and her parents Alma (Kloeppel) Guisinger and Joseph Guisinger. Survivors include her son Stephen (Diane) Montgomery of Marion, IA, Grandsons Tom (Laurie) Montgomery of Cedar Rapids, IA and Todd (Renae) Montgomery of Van Meter, IA and five great-grandchildren Peyton, Gavin, Trae, Slade and Cierra. Betty worked for many years in the polling places for elections in Dayton and Englewood, Ohio. She was also very active in PEO chapters AK and CK. She was always into crafts and needlepoint. Two of her passions were playing bridge and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds. She was able to be with her family in Iowa for the past year and delighted in the time spent with her youngest great-granddaughter Cierra. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood, Ohio) with Rev. Carl Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Church of Christ in Dayton, Ohio or the charity of your choice.
