Robert Bucek

Mr. Robert Stanley "Bob" Bucek, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Huntley, Illinois.

Born on September 30, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, Bob was the beloved son of Benedict Bucek and Cecilia (Zick) Bucek. He graduated in 1960 from Lane Technical High School in Chicago, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication and hard work.

Shortly after graduation, Bob began his career with Illinois Bell as an installer. Over the course of 34 years, he built a respected legacy within the company through his commitment and reliability before retiring. His work ethic and loyalty were hallmarks of his professional life.

Bob shared many cherished years with his wife, Mary Ann (Salerno) Bucek, who preceded him in death. Together they raised three children: Richard Bucek, Robert M. Bucek, and Melissa Bucek. He also leaves behind his grandson Daniel Bucek. Bob's devotion to his family was unwavering-he was always there with steady support and wise counsel.

A lifelong fan of professional football, Bob especially loved cheering on the Chicago Bears. Sundays were often spent immersed in the game he loved so much. In retirement, he remained active and social frequenting the fitness center daily at Del Webb where he enjoyed time with his "pool pals." These routines brought him joy and connection in his later years.

Those who knew Bob will remember him for his sharp wit and warm sense of humor. His laughter brightened many rooms and left lasting impressions on friends and family alike.

Visitation will be held on August 28, 2025, from 04:00 PM to 07:00 PM at DeFiore Funeral 10763 Dundee Road Huntley, Illinois. A second visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Saint Mary Catholic Church 10307 Dundee Road Huntley, Illinois until the Funeral Mass from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Following Mass, Bob will be buried alongside his wife Mary Ann at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery 1400 S Wolf Rd. Hillside, Illinois.
