Robert Budd Obituary
He was a CPL in the United States Marine for 4 years. Robert moved to Versailles, KY in 2011. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in US History. Robert served as an Assistant Math Professor for several years at Springfield Technical Community College in Massachusetts, followed by many years in the USPS bulk mail department in Springfield, Massachusetts until he retired in 2009..
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Jeannie (Butler) Budd, his son Alain Budd, and his sister Charlene Matthews. He is survived by his second wife, Bettie (Bowen) Budd and her two children Trina Shonekan and Theodore Bowen, and his children Diane Budd of Florida, Lynn Budd of Springfield, and Elisabeth Budd-Brown and husband Anthony of Baltimore. He also leaves his brother Michael Budd, and his six grandchildren Xairis Santana, Athena Brown, Apollo Brown, Atlas Brown, Adonis Brown, and Lyra Budd.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road in Springfield. The memorial service will start at 12:00pm, with a time for sharing remembrances at 12:30pm. Robert will be laid to rest with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.

My father was like an onion - he had many layers. We will never know the depth and breadth of who he truly was. However, he will be missed by his family and those he actually cared for. In his later years, he showed up for his grandchildren in the best way he knew how, and I appreciate that deeply. Lyra and I will miss you and are so grateful for the time we got to spend. I certainly wish there was more time, but God had a different plan. Rest easy now. Say hi to Mommy and Alain for me, and tell them about Lyra and all your grandkids.
