Robert Thomas Cordasco

Born April 29, 1932, in Newark NJ. Passed August 11, 2025, in Phoenix AZ

Robert was a US veteran.

Robert worked for 30 years for multiple breweries in Newark NJ, a city at the time known for producing some of the best beer in the country. In his spare time, he also played bass and other instruments in a local band playing at local venues for weddings and other functions. He loved talking about his days working for the Ballantine and Pabst Breweries in Newark where he would enjoy a warm beer with his lunch.

An avid sports fan, he even tried out for the New York Yankees, but they were not ready to take advantage of his skills at the time.

Robert married the love of his life Elaine and took on the role of loving father to three beautiful and energetic daughters Denise, Diane, and Deborah.

He lived in NJ until moving to Arizona in 1990 to enjoy retirement in the valley of the sun.

While he was a life-long fan of the New York Yankee and Giants he loved attending sporting events in Arizona including the Diamondbacks, Cardinals and indoor football Rattlers.

Robert always enjoyed his traditional fish on Fridays and Pasta on Sundays (or any day).

Robert was an amazing man who always put family and friends first. His great love for his family and friends was evident by how he cherished every one of them. He frequently hand wrote cards of support and notes just to say hi and stay connected. It was a joy of his to call or write just to stay connected. He was a man of great faith, love, strength, and support to everyone he knew and all who knew him. He always kept a supply of dog biscuits for the neighborhood dogs.

He was predeceased by his wife Elaine, parents Thomas and Irene, sister Arlene and daughters Denise and Deborah.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Diane and Vincent DiMattia in New Jersey, his granddaughter Lily and husband Bryan Altonjy in New Jersey, his brother-in-law Domenick Iacovelli, and son-in-law Christopher Long in Arizona.

He adored his only granddaughter Lily Elaine and was affectionally known as Papa. He wanted more than anything to meet his great grandchild due in October; however, his Lord God called him home early. He will witness the birth from the bleachers up-above.

After 93 years of love, he will be dearly missed by scores of family and friends and will remain a treasure with fond memories in many hearts in the US and abroad.

Robert will be interred next to his wife Elaine in Hansen cemetery in Scottsdale Arizona.
