Robert Hill "Bob" Ettl

Robert Ettl was born December 23, 1946 to Walter Joseph Ettl and Celia Hill Ettl. He passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022. Bob grew up on a farm just south of Meridian on the Sacramento River. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He always had his gun with him when he walked up and down the levee shooting varments that hurt the walnuts.

In 1966, he went on to serve in the US Air Force as crew chief on a B-52 where he made lifetime friendships.

He came back to the Meridian area where he ran 1660 water district, tried walnut farming, and ended up retiring as a truck driver.

Bob loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed telling stories with friends over a round of whiskey and beer.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Celia. Brother William, sisters Franceska Day and Dorthy ttl.

He is survived by brothers Tony and Jim Ettl, sister Sarah Pryor, nephews Les Day, Larry Ettl and Jack Ettl, and niece Katie Ettl.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, where his ashes will be laid to rest. A celebration of Bob's life will be celebrated Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 2-6pm at his residence.
