Robert K. Gallmann, Sr., 77, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Beloved husband of Betty Jean Gallmann. Mr. Gallmann is survived by his children Robert K. Gallmann, Jr. and his wife Peggy E. Gallmann, Lisa A. Coakley and her husband Robert Coakley and Michael K. Gallmann and his wife Jennifer Gallmann; sisters Helen Gallmann Roy and Betty Ann Gallmann; brothers William Gallmann and Richard Gallmann; grandchildren Shannan Gallmann, Tyler Gallmann, Scott Coakley, Thomas Coakley and Ryan Gallmann. He is preceded in death by his parents Helen Abadie Gallmann and William H. Gallmann; brother Charles K. Gallmann; sister Barbara Jean Hebert. Mr. Gallmann was a graduate of Jesuit High School, LSU and attended Loyola University. While at Loyola he was a member of Beggars Fraternity. He served as Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Gallmann worked for USI for 35 years. He was a member of several organizations including National Chemical Society, Beau Chene CC, The Krewe of Bacchus and the recipient of 1st place in the regional senior Olympics table tennis. Mr. Gallmann was an avid golfer and tennis player. Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery), on Monday, March, 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Jesuit High School or the Knights of Columbus Council No. 12072.
