Robert Gettler Obituary
Robert Neal Gettler known as "Robbie" passed away on February 27, 2017 from complications of diabetes in San Pedro CA, he was only 34 years old. Robbie was born on April 2, 1982 in San Pedro, CA to Richard Gettler and Barbara Lahann.
Robbie grew up in Corona, CA with his mother Barbara; his brothers Richard and Chris; his sister Shannon; and his step-father Michael Dwyer. Robbie graduated from Santiago High School in Corona, CA in the year of 2000. Approximately a dozen years ago, Robbie returned to San Pedro, CA to live with his father, Richard and his brother, Christopher leaving many friends behind.
Robbie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Tillie Gettler; maternal grandmother, Goldene Lahann; and two uncles Steve Lahann and Ray Gettler. Surviving family members include his father, Richard Gettler; his mother Barbara Dwyer; step-father, Michael Dwyer; grandfather, Robert Lahann; brothers, Richard (Yoma) Gettler and Christopher Gettler; sister Shannon (Jason) Stein; and halfsister Natalie (Rene) Sanchez; nephews, Richie and Joseph Gettler; Braden Stein and Rene Sanchez; nieces, Cadence Stein and Aubriella Sanchez; uncles, Doug (Lee) Lahann; Art and Rudy Gettler; aunts, Renee Gettler and Wilma (John) Rucker. Also surviving, step-brothers, Michael and Brian (Janelle) Dwyer; step-sister Debby Thomas and numerous cousins.
Robbie was a very loving and caring person. He was known for finding needy and neglected dogs and he would bring them home to nurse them back to health. They would live with him until they grew old. Robbie will be missed by so many people and he was greatly loved.
A Mass will be held on behalf of Robbie and his family and friends on April1, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro, CA.

Robbie was one of my friends in HS. He always had a possitive attitude and I really enjoyed the times when we would talk and laugh together.
I hope to see him again in the Kingdom someday.

Robbie was a great friend and amazing person. He brought a smile to every person he came in contact with. Robbie always saw the positive in every situation and in every person. I often referred to Robbie as "The Romantic One" and "The Rabi" for his charm with the ladies that was second to none, and his philosophy about life and happiness he so often shared with close friends.
