Robert Dale Giancola

Robert Dale Giancola, 72, passed away on Monday, May 19th, 2025, at the Minneapolis VA after his courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born January 26th, 1953, in Phoenix, Arizona to Joseph and Margaret (nee Porter) Giancola, Bob grew up to serve his country as a US Marine during the Vietnam era. After his service, he earned an associate's degree in Automotive Technology from the Los Angeles Community College. Bob went on to spend nearly two decades with BNSF Railroad, where he developed a reputation for dedication and hard work. An avid motorcyclist, Bob earned numerous "Iron Butt" patches, a testament to his adventurous spirit. Active in his community, Bob was deeply involved with The Alano Society of Minneapolis, serving as president from 2011-2016 and again from 2023 until 2025. He was married to his loving wife Michele and was the proud father of four children. Bob is survived by his sisters Rosemary Colamesta, Jeannette Wheeler, Nancy Kimsey, Alice Cupaiuol, brothers John and Joey; sons Andrew, Paul, Nicholas, Paul Aherns; and his many grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother Sam, sister Kathy, mother Margaret, father Joseph, wife Michele, and his previous wife Patty Binder. Bob's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his toughness, compassion, and steadfast commitment to those around him.
