A Time To Be Born

Robert ("Gil") was born June 29, 1953, to the late Robert Lee Gilchrist, Sr. and the late Ruby Mae Gilchrist in Burke County, Georgia.

A Time To Learn

Robert attended the Burke County Public Schools and graduated from Waynesboro High School.

A Time To Work

Robert was employed by Thermal Ceramics for 40 plus years.

A Time To Serve

Robert was baptized at an early age and became a member of Gordon Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He served, faithfully, as a Deacon until his health failed.

A Time To Love

Robert was the loving father of two daughters, Sylvia and Marcia. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

A Time To Die

On November 8, 2022, God called Robert to his eternal home from Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Gilchrist, Sr., his mother, Ruby Mae Gilchrist, his daughter, Marcia Denise Gilchrist and his brothers, King Edward Gilchrist and McArthur Gilchrist.

A Time To Mourn

Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories: a loving daughter, Sylvia Gilchrist, a precious granddaughter, Kayla Freeman, a loving and devoted partner, Barbara Combs, five brothers: John (Cheryl) Gilchrist, Roger (Sharon) Gilchrist, Alvin (Mae) Gilchrist, Nathaniel (Brenda) Gilchrist and Jeffery Gilchrist; one sister, Roberta (Bob) Rogers; one aunt, Johnnie Mae McClary; a very caring sister-in-law, Cheryl Gilchrist; and a multitude of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Gordon Hill Baptist Church, Old Waynesboro Road, Waynesboro, GA 30830.
