Robert Glen Moshier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 30, 2022.
Robert Glen Moshier, 80, of Charles Town WV passed away peacefully on Monday, June 13,2022 at Williamsport Retirement Community, while under the care of Hospice of Washington County.

Bob was born in coal mining country, McDowell, WV, and his father was a coal miner. He was born on June 6, 1942 in Elkhorn, WV and was the son of the late Glen Elkbert Moshier and Elsie Naomi (Frazier) Moshier. Bob graduated from Elkhorn High School in Elkhorn, WV and joined the Army National Guard after graduation. While in the Guard, Bob was responsible for the tanks and motorpools.

Bob was an Insurance Agent with Smith- Nadenbousch Insurance Agency in Charles Town WV and retired after more than 35 years of service. He was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town, WV.

Bob's greatest love was his wife and family, second only to that was his love and passion for all things cars. He loved restoring antique cars, installing fast motors, and cruising the open road with his wife, both grinning as they flew by the other road travelers. His favorite restored antique of choice was his 1946 Plymouth Coupe, likely seen by many with "Dadder's Car" etched in the rear window. He was an active member of The Country Roads Car Club, as well as member and past president of the Charles Town Lions Club. He was also a member and past president of Tri-State Tennessee Walking Horse Association.

Bob also loved planes and loved to fly them. He co-owned a plane for a brief time and took many solo and day trips. His greatest accomplishment as a pilot hobbyist was participating in the great EAA Airventure Airshow in Oshkosh, WI. Bob joined over 10,000 other small plane pilots at the airshow.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy (Price) Moshier; Daughter, Bethany Ulsh and husband Aaron of Martinsburg WV; Sons, Mikal Moshier and wife Kris of Harpers Ferry WV and Rusty Moshier and wife Cherokee of Charles Town WV; Grandchildren, Nathaniel Breeden, Autumn Brown and husband Tevon, AJ Ulsh, Ashton Byers, Elijah Ulsh, Zane Cooper, Avery Moshier, Wyatt Moshier, Roen Moshier, Rachael Wilt, and Amy Wilt; Great-Grandchildren, Maiyah Brown, Kailah Brown, and Sutton Athey; Brother, James Moshier and wife Alice of Princeton,WV, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

His special four-legged companions, Sam and Peaches, his "grand"dogs Mokha, Zeus, and Meeko, and "grand"cat Zola will also miss his gentle smile, joyful laugh, loving attention, and the treats he would sneak them.

Bob never met a stranger and leaves behind many close friends and acquaintances. His kindness, generosity, and sunny personality will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Reverend John Bethard officiating. Interment will be private.
