Robert Linton Godown passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2020 following a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 16th, 1945 and was the 2nd of 3 boys born to Stanley Roberts & Elizabeth Avery Godown.
Bob, as he was known, graduated from Boga Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, FL class of 1963. He later attended St. Petersburg Junior College. In 1980, following a career with NCR he founded Consolidated Software Systems, now known as CSF International, Inc.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Burma (Francini) Godown; his son, Robert Linton Godown Cotter (Angela); his daughter, Mary Kimberly Jaconetti (Freddie); his step-son Anthony William Cappadora (Nancy); two granddaughters, Tiffany Wallis (Justin) and Tara Hall (Joshua); two grandsons, Enzo Cotter and Luca Cotter. Five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Avery Godown and Stanley Barrie Godown.
A private service was held at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota, FL on January 9, 2021 where Bob was laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Avenue, Sarasota FL 34236.
