Robert Golas Obituary
Robert Walter Golas, Sr. Age, 75 died October 31, 2012 at his residence in Delray Beach, Fl (formerly of Bridgeport, CT. January 20, 1937 Mr. Golas was a graduate of the Bridgeport Police Academy and worked for the Bridgeport Police Department from 1961-1988 and retired as a Detective. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served from 1956-1959 as a Lance Cpl. He was a member of the Police Benevolent Society, member of the Eagles Lodge in Delray Beach, and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and volunteer with many organizations and known as a loyal friend. Son of the late Harry Golas and the late Elizabeth Rita Kosc Golas Survived by two sons, Rev. Robert W. Golas of Indian Head, MD and Richard E. (Francesca) Golas of North Haven, CT; one daughter, Robin Ann Davis of Dallas, TX; Two grandsons, Chase and Connor Davis; one brother, Gary (Robbin) Golas of Trumbull, CT; one sister, Beverly(Charles) Rega of Sandy Hook, CT; and long-time friend, Louis Tomasiello of Delray Beach, FL. Also survived by five nieces and one nephew. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Emmanuel Catholic Church in Delray Beach, FL. Rev, Robert W. Golas and the Rev. Joseph Francavilla Interment: A memorial gathering will take place in CT at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cinn, Ohio 45250

Golas Family; Bob picked me up when I was at my lowest,and between him,Tommy and Jackie showed me how to get straight.These guys stayed with me until I was able to see straight.

Jim and I had some great times in Delray, with you. Key West in 2000 was a blast! The Eagles Saturdays in Boynton Beach. Coconut Creek! Joe Yates is gone, Jim Lynch is gone, Jim is gone, now you. You'll be remembered fondly and missed.
